Who doesn’t know the world-famous Frauenkirche in Dresden ?! – A unique building!

The research group at the LSP chair has now dealt with how this structure can be constructed using 3D printing:

The file for 3D printing comes from the open source platform Thingiverse

With the template, the PLA Frauenkirche was created in miniature in 20 hours.

And what is the science behind it?

In terms of research, a student is currently working on the relationship between pressure parameters and mechanical properties
The layer height is shown to be a decisive parameter for performance and printing costs and time
The scientists at the LSP are very well equipped to determine the influence of polymer morphology, moisture content, degradation and mechanical properties
