characterisation of nonwovens

Apart from the production of nonwovens, the investigation of instability phenomena and the characterization of material parameters, the analysis of the produced fibers and nonwovens plays a central role. Here, both the mechanical testing of single fibers and nonwovens, as well as other application-relevant properties, such as wettability, abrasion resistance, or the surface energies can be investigated.

For these examinations, the chair possesses various tensile testing machines (single fiber, nonwoven, etc.), pilling and abrasion testers (Martindale) and other laboratory equipment, which are listed in the Equipment section.
