A3 from Munich or Würzburg: Leave the motorway at the Tennenlohe exit and follow the B4 towards Erlangen. Take the “Universität Südgelände” exit. At the roundabout, take the second exit towards Erlangen or “Südgelände” (Kurt-Schumacher-Str.). Take the second exit on the left onto Erwin-Rommel-Strasse, then the first road on the left onto Egerlandstrasse. Continue straight ahead until you can turn left onto Martensstrasse, and follow this road to the car park on the left-hand side. The Materials Science buildings (Martensstrasse 5 and 7) are located behind the car park.
A73 from Regensburg or Nuremberg: Leave the motorway at the Erlangen-Bruck exit and head towards Nuremberg. Follow Paul-Gossen-Strasse as you leave Erlangen. Take the “Südgelände” or “Gräfenberg” exit. Turn left onto Kurt-Schumacher-Strasse. Take the second left onto Erwin-Rommel-Strasse, then the first left onto Egerlandstrasse. Continue straight ahead until you can turn left onto Martensstraße, and follow this road to the car park on the left-hand side. The Materials Science buildings (Martensstraße 5 and 7) are located behind the car park. The Department is located in the building at Martensstraße 7.
Public transport
Bus 287 (journey time approx. 20 minutes from Erlangen railway station): Take bus 287 towards “Sebaldussiedlung” and get off at the “Technische Fakultät” stop. Please note: some buses do not stop at this stop, or do so only irregularly, during the lecture-free period.
Bus 30/30E/295 (journey time approx. 20 minutes): Take one of the buses 30, 30E or 295 towards “Nürnberg/Thon” or “Tennenlohe” and get off at the “Erlangen Süd” stop. Cross the bridge and then keep to the right. After about 50 metres, turn left onto Martensstrasse and follow it for a further 50 metres. The Materials Science buildings (Martensstrasse 5 and 7) are on the right-hand side behind the car park.
