The Chair of Polymer Materials mourns the loss of Susanne Michler
Suddenly and completely unexpectedly for all of us, Susanne Michler passed away on November 5, 2025.
Ms. Michler had been a member of the LSP family for more than 25 years. She was a loyal employee who always tried to complete the tasks assigned to her quickly and reliably. In addition to her diverse responsibilities at the chair (IT administration, software and hardware procurement, security officer, and much, much more …), she was deeply committed to supporting students at the Student Service Center of the Department of Materials Science (SSC). At SSC information events at schools and trade fairs, her open and friendly manner enabled her to inspire many students to study in Erlangen. It was very important to her that she always treated students and colleagues with respect.
She also made sure that no one went thirsty or became unable to work due to low blood sugar or caffeine deficiency. How often did she surprise us on Mondays with cake, saying, “I had some leftovers, so I baked something.” Unfortunately, that will no longer happen…
Our sincere condolences go out to her family.
Susanne, we will miss you. We will always honor your memory.
